MERISI

At first glance, the Merisi bouquet suggests the idea that it was assembled by collecting flowers and greenery in a park, and this is its strength. It recreates overwhelming spontaneity that immediately becomes enveloping and very elegant thanks to the purple-burgundy tones of the maxi hydrangeas and the artichoke, contrasted with the soft green of the snowball viburnum. As in Caravaggio’s painting, the light vibrates on the individual flowers and highlights their natural beauty. The bouquet has an elliptical shape, flowers with globe inflorescences prevail, with the counterpoint of more spiky shapes both in the flowers – freesia – and in the rural greenery. Inspired by the Boy with a Basket of Fruit by Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio, 1593-1594.
